I can see the red edge of the open step in the lower right hand corner of the photo - which tells me the car has the open/slat steps that were retrofitted to the cars in the mid -1950s.
You have the eye of a hawk,. I missed that. Did any of the cabooses make it to the end of their carries without the new steps. Is there any timeline when these replacement steps were done. I have built a number of funaro cabooses and would like to put road numbers with the original steps that lasted the longest. Thanks, JOHN
